PanicLite is the Emergency Orientation Light for the power socket. It is an addition to passive fire safety. PanicLite activates automatically with every smoke alarm corresponding with European Standard EN 14604. PanicLite gives orientation in emergencies and panic situations and when seconds count between life and death. For installation simply plug it into any socket.
PanicLite reacts to any smoke alarm corresponding to European Standard EN 14604 – which is pretty much any smoke alarm sold and distributed in the EU. The uniform frequency and loudness emitted by the smoke alarm are recognized reliably by the PanicLite and activate the integrated LED arrow.
PanicLite prevents panic reactions. Panic leads to disorientation and misinterpretation of distances and dimensions, leading to fatal reactions, irrational behavior and wasting precious seconds. Loss of orientation due to darkness and smoke is seen as the biggest risk for survival by firefighters. PanicLite guides victims to the exit, even in case of bad visibility caused by smoke.
PanicLite is simple to use and install – plug it into the socket. Done. It activates automatically and charges the internal battery. Thus, PanicLite works in case of a power loss, which could be a hint to a smoldering fire. With the integrated battery PanicLite can also be used as an emergency torch.
PanicLite is absolutely independant. It does not need and SmartHome servers or technology, no network or internet connection, no app or phone connection. PanicLite does not send, receive, store or share any data – because it does not collect any data. PanicLite is just PanicLite.
PanicLite is fully free of service or maintenance. A functional control is made automatically with the annual fire alarm testing. PanicLite is ready to work within seconds and stays in duty 24/7. Want to see how PanicLite works? Simply plug it from the socket, as this simulates a power drop or failure.
The expected and targeted customer price range is 19-29 Euros, which is the range of quality smoke alarms. The final price range will most likely depend on the quality of the integrated components as well as on the design and construction of the housing, the country of manufacturing and the amount of units produced. Regarding sales, the idea of bundling PanicLite with smoke alarms might be a starting option for a market entry.
The smoke alarms market is gigantic. Alone in Europe, more than 100 million households are equipped with at least one smoke alarm. PanicLite profits directly from this market and participates directly in this market. Groth potential of the smoke alarm market is seen between 6.7 and 7.5 percent by studies of Fortune Business Insights and CAGR, also fueled by the mandatory 10-year exchange cycle.
We have developed a range of PanicLite solutions for the B2C market as well as for the B2B market. As the B2C solution is mostly targeted to families with kids, older people and people moving into new accommodations, the B2B solutions focuses on Hotels, senior residencies, kindergardens, schools and building companies. PanicLite explicitly does not replace recommended and mandatory emergency light installations – PanicLite is an additional safety feature.
PanicLite is patent pending in Germany and Europe and is already protected by utility model protection/utility patent and design registration. This is to ensure a reliable and high quality production.
